Based in Berlin, Geckeler is exploring the wider area of industrial design, focusing on furniture, interior, tableware and lighting. With its unique classic Scandinavian feel condensed into the design, the Nerd Chair won the Muuto Talent Award in 2011 with the Nerd Bar Stool joining it in 2013.

The Nerd Bar Stool is designed with a playfully contemporary expression, joined by its wooden Scandinavian materiality. The seamless integration of its back and seat makes for a characterful detail alongside the curved edges of its seat. In 2020 Muuto changed the chairs’ finish to a more environmentally-friendly, water-based lacquer. Please note that, as a result, the hue of the chairs is slightly different than before. At the same time, screws were added to the backrest for enhanced stability. The stool seat height is 65cm which is recommended for a kitchen counter top (90cm).

Product Material
The back and seat of the Nerd Chair is made in form-pressed veneer alongside its legs in solid wood — both with a water-based lacquer. Glides in plastic.
